Redaction has become vital in light of new transparency requirements imposed on
Local Councils and Central Government Bodies.
RapidRedact can help streamline the redaction process.
In June 2010, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government informed
local authorities that they would have to publish expenditure on items over £500.
This includes tenders, contracts and payments.
For Central Government bodies, all tender documents and contracts over £10,000
awarded must be published.
However, commercially sensitive or personal information needs to be redacted before
publication is possible. Redaction is used to securely and irreversibly blank out
non-disclosable information and metadata.
Unlike other redaction software, RapidRedact works with any electronic format document,
such as scanned images, pdf files, word processing documents, and emails.
RapidRedact can also be used for secure document conversion, where redaction is not
necessary, but removal of hidden data (change history, authors etc.) is required.
